PROJECTS
Below is a brief description of some past projects that PCG Engineering employees have been involved with.

BP Terminals 2011 Engineering Project Programme
January 2011 – December 2012
Working with BP to provide engineering support on a variety of projects across its UK storage and handling terminals. The projects range from the installation of safety valves and replacement of pumps to the re-routing of pipe work to above ground locations and the extension of Firemains. Tasks on this project included the production and monitoring of CTRs, production of pipe material specifications, pipe wall calculations, material and valve take off lists, cost estimates, requisitions and reports. Duties also included supervising a team of 3 piping engineers and 9 designers were also supervised in the production of engineering documentation, layout drawings, isometrics and schedules and the checking and verification of these deliverables.
UK CCS Carbon Capture Demonstration Competition (FEED)
October 2010 – January 2011
Working alongside National Grid (NG) to design new pipeline networks for the transport of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) from large emitters, such as power stations, to storage facilities located under the North Sea. The project supports wider government ambitions to reduce CO2 emissions through the deployment of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technologies. Tasks included producing pipe material specifications, wall thickness calculations and valve datasheets. All documentation produced has been created in accordance with stringent specifications, such as IGEM/TD/1, where applicable.

Gateway Gas Storage Facility (FEED)
July 2010 – October 2010
Concept design for a compressor station that is to be connected to the NTS by a bi-directional pipeline so that gas can be imported from the NTS to storage caverns located under the Irish Sea. Tasks incuded the creation and checking pipe material specifications, wall thickness and hydrotest calculations, valve data sheets and the checking of general arrangement drawings. All documentation was designed to specifications ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.8
EDF Nuclear, UK EPR Project (Tours, France)
October 2009 – July 2010
Working out of EDF's office in Tours, France on the design of the Hinkley Point European Pressurised Reactor (EPR). Duties included offering guidance to the French team on the selection of pipework design codes acceptable for use in the UK (BS EN 13480) and stress analysis of large diameter pipework using Caltuy Solveur.
